Overview
The TrueVis VG4 is Roland DG’s next-generation large-format printer/cutter for premium sign graphics. The VG4-640 covers media from 335 to 1,625 mm wide and prints and cuts up to 1,600 mm. It runs Roland’s new generation eco-solvent inks — the economical D-EA2 or the premium TR3 — with configurations up to eight channels including Orange, Green, Light Black and high-opacity White (double White cartridges), alongside a dual-CMYK setup for maximum throughput.
Key features
- New TR3 ink flexibility — expanded-gamut configurations now include new Red, plus Orange, Green and Light Black; high-opacity White for window and speciality output
- D-EA2 economical ink — makes 8-colour eco-solvent more accessible, also available as 2 × CMYK for throughput
- Direct Print — select and start jobs from the print queue on the 7-inch touch panel
- Production efficiency — improved media take-up as standard, perforation sheet cut for easier long runs, improved ink utilisation for lower running costs
- VersaWorks 7 + Roland DG Connect software included
- Roland Intelligent Pass Control for stable droplet control and consistent output

FAQ
What is the difference between VG4-640 and VG4-540?
The VG4-640 is the 64-inch model (media up to 1,625 mm, print/cut width 1,600 mm, 189 kg); the VG4-540 is the 54-inch model (media up to 1,371 mm, print/cut width 1,346 mm, 182 kg). Ink systems and all other features are the same.
Which ink does the VG4 use?
Two options: D-EA2 economical eco-solvent (including a dual-CMYK configuration) or TR3 premium eco-solvent (including 8-colour sets with Orange, Green, Red, Light Black and White). Both come in 500 ml cartridges; White is 220 ml. The VG4 is not compatible with older TR2 ink.
Does it cut as well as print?
Yes — the VG4 is an integrated printer/cutter using Roland CAMM-1 blade technology, with cutting speed up to 300 mm/s and blade force up to 500 gf, so you can print and contour-cut stickers, labels and decals in one machine.
Is VersaWorks included?
Yes. VersaWorks 7 RIP and the Roland DG Connect app are included with the machine.
How is the VG4 shipped?
Machines ship by freight on a pallet. Shipping cost is quoted per destination — contact us with your city and port for a freight quote. Spare parts and ink for the VG4 are stocked and ship worldwide in 2–7 working days.
